FABLE n.f. (lat. fabula) La fable est un court récit écrit plutôt en vers qu’en prose et ayant un but didactique. Elle se caractérise généralement par l’usage d’une symbolique animale, des dialogues vifs, et des ressorts comiques.
Serval et GR!
ont le plaisir de vous présenter le premier volet de leurs fables
urbaines! Inspirées par les légendaires fables d’Esope,
mises en vers par Lafontaine et enfin, en avril 2008, illustrées
par des graffeurs talentueux, rappées par des MCs de renom sur
des productions de beatmakers confirmés.
Il s’agit d’un livre d’illustrations de 24 pages, sérigraphié
et relié à la main, accompagné d’un CD contant
l’histoire d’Iron Georges(+ 1 titre inédit) et d’un
poster sérigraphié à la main lui aussi. Les images
sont toutes signées de la main de Serval avec l’apparition
de certains personnages bien connus de l’art urbain ( Flying Fortress,
Scribe, Jazi…). Les images illustrent le texte frais et décalé,
signé par GR!, également maître d’orchestre
du CD qui accompagne le livre.
Le CD reprend le texte, lu et joué par des MC’s au talent
reconnu ( Leeroy, Sako de Chiens de Paille, Veust Lyricist, …) sur
des beats inédits (Yvan Peacemaker, GR!, Sebb, F…). Pour
le morceau inédit, nous avons eu le plaisir de collaborer avec
l’excellent MC lausannois Person qui a écrit son texte en
s’inspirant de la morale de la fable.
Au final un projet frais, décalé et de facture 100% Hip-Hop
proposé sous forme de coffret collector . Vu la qualité
de la production nous n’imprimons que 500 exemplaires numérotés

FABLE (n.)a fable is a brief, succinct story, in
prose or verse, that features animals, plants, inanimate objects, or forces
of nature which are anthropomorphized (given human qualities), and that
illustrates a moral lesson (a "moral"), which may at the end
be expressed explicitly in a pithy maxim.
Serval and
GR! have the pleasure of presenting the first volume of their street fables!
Inspired by Aesop, GR! brings back the classics with a fresh new twist,
illustrated by talented artists from all over the world and rhymed by
some of France's finest vocalist over heavy-duty beats.
The final project includes a 24 page graphic novel in full color, bound
and silkscreened by hand, a CD with 3 tracks ( the Iron Georges story
+ 2 bonus tracks)and a silkscreened poster! The illustrations are all
Serval's handiwork with guest appearances from well-known illustrators
( Scribe, Flying Fortress, Jazi...). The pictures illustrate a humorous
and modern text, written by GR! also the mastermind behind the CD's soundtrack.
The CD is composed of three tracks; the first is the text of the fable
read and acted out by well established MCs of the French rap scene on
a slew of dope beats by international producers, Yvan Peacemaker, SEBB,
GR! and others. For the second track we had the pleasur of collaborating
with Lausanne's very own Person who dropped us his version of the fable's
moral.
The Final result is a fresh project linking together the worlds of illustration,
music and litterature in a classic Hip-Hop style. Because of the high
quality of the means of production ( hand printing and binding!) we will
only be preparing 500 of these sets, each individually numbered!
